Crown reduction

What is it?

When a tree’s crown – that is, the foliage-bearing portion – becomes too full and thick, it can put stress on the lower branches and cause shading or light loss that’s harmful to the environment below.

This can be minimised by removing some of the crown, in a process called crown reduction.

How can Tall Oaks help?

At Tall Oaks, we perform crown-reduction services to the guidelines recommended by the Arboriculture Association.

Our skilled surgeons make cuts as small as possible in the crown, taking away specific parts of the tree to aid clarity while retaining its natural shape.

While many providers offer “topping” services, these can be damaging. We pride ourselves on the care and attention to detail we give each tree – all while working quickly and efficiently to deliver the best service at the lowest price with the least disruption.
